Commissioning
The BMA provides evidence to the Health Select Committee inquiry into Commissioning (October 2009).
‘The commissioning or planning of patient care and services is a key function which needs to balance the population’s health needs with the finite resources that society is prepared to make available via taxes. Associating commissioning with ideological reforms or policies dilutes and subverts its core purpose, ultimately to the detriment of patient care.’ Read full evidence.
